About Us
The Queen of Hearts Foundation® was created out of the personal experiences of Cofounders, Katy Attebery and Carmen Perez. Two women who share a passion and a mission to make a difference. Most women over the age of 50 don’t live to talk about their heart attack. As a matter of fact, most women don’t talk about heart attacks at all.
Cofounder, Katy Attebery survived 3 heart attacks over a 5 day period of time, Katy was thrilled to be alive! Getting healthy and staying that way has been her focus. But just as important has been her desire to share her story, the facts and symptoms with other women. They’re embarrassed, ashamed, think there was something they could have done to prevent it or consider it a sign of weakness. Katy Attebery feels very differently about the subject.
Cofounder Carmen Perez has never had a heart attack. Her father is a heart attack survivor and Carmen has been proactive in taking care of her heart health. She knows the history of her own heart. A strong community activist and always an advocate of good health and exercise, Carmen feels strongly about creating awareness, education and information regarding women of all ages about their heart health.
Knowledge is power. And heart attacks are silent, but deadly. Katy and Carmen believe that awareness, education and information are the key ingredients to having a healthy heart.
Founders Message:
Hello Heart Owners!
A HEALTHY HEART…THE ULTIMATE GREEN INITIATIVE! The Heart is the engine that runs the Human Being. It doesn’t emit pollutants into the atmosphere but strives to be the healthiest organ in our personal environment, our bodies. We ask it to beat an average of 100,000 times a day and pump our fuel (blood) through approximately 60 miles of roadways called arteries, veins and capillaries. Pretty amazing. And when the roadway gets blocked, we ask ourselves “how or why did this happen to me?”
The Queen of Hearts Foundation is your wellness kit for heart health. Awareness. Education. Information.
The majority of women are not aware, educated or informed regarding their heart health. Women are commonly misdiagnosed: anxiety attack, acid reflux, gall bladder attack. We hear and read about risk factors, but symptoms are not a part of our learning experience. Last year an estimated 600,000 women did not survive to tell their stories.
Join us in spreading the news! Awareness. Education. Information.
